Michele Di Donato was born in Apulia in 1968 and living in Sicily for about twenty years. After studying business administration, he worked as an NLP and Transactional Analysis trainer and as a marketing and communication consultant. He has dedicated himself to photography since he was a child, at first self-taught and then studying and deepening it in numerous courses and masters. 

He regularly holds workshops, in different educational contexts, on VISUAL PERCEPTION, VISUAL COMMUNICATION and PHOTOGRAPHIC NARRATION. A portfolio reader at numerous photography festivals, since 2018 he has been part of the ISP Italian Street Photography project, for which he carries out Street Photography training experiences as a mentor. Also in 2018 he is selected by the S.A.C.S. archive of the Regional Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art – Museo Riso in Palermo. 

Michele photographs out of necessity, and this visceral way of writing with images has allowed him to receive national and international acclaim including the Moscow International Foto Award 2015, 2016, 2020 in RUSSIA, the 16th China International Photographic Art Exhibition, the International Salon of Fine Art Photography 2016 in INDIA, the 6th China International Digital Photography Art Exhibition 2017 in CHINA, the Tokyo International Foto Award 2017 and 2020 in JAPAN, IOAF CONCH Award 2020 in SOUTH KOREA and the SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD 2017 in which he was awarded the honour of “Commended as Top 50 in the World” in the Open Architecture category. His images have been published in MAGAZINES such as Reflex, Foto CULT, Click Magazine, Cities, Die Angst Munich, L’Oeil de la Photographie Paris, F-STOP Magazine, Spectrum, Gente di Fotografia, Edge of Humanity Magazine USA, are part of many PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COLLECTIONS and have been shown in numerous solo EXHIBITIONS around the world. 

He collaborates with several companies as product and advertising photographer, such as Air Dolomiti, BNP Paribas-Italy, SNDesign Italia, ArtLINK Luxury Cruise Ship. 

He is currently represented by the following art galleries: Singulart (Paris), Saatchi Art (New York).

His latest book is entitled BRAIN DAMAGE – TDAS Editore – Catania (2020)
